Attempted burglary

SHAMOKIN - City police responded to a burglar alarm about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Choice Cigarette Discount Outlet at Race and Pearl streets. A window was broken but Chief Darwin Tobias III does not believe entry was made or that anything was stolen. Anyone with information should call police at 570-648-5708.

Burglary

TREVORTON - Tina Marie Hengst, 31, of Shamokin, reported a burglary at a mobile home at Stiely's trailer lot in Zerbe Township. Trooper Daniel J. Wilk said a thief entered the trailer through an unlocked door and walked off with a 47-inch Vizio flat-screen television sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 1 and 2:15 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call the Stonington state police station at 570-286-5601.

Harrassment

TREVORTON - David Christopher Balonis, 56, of Mount Carmel, and Jamie Lyn Shaffer, 19, of Trevorton, are accused of harassing each other verbally and physically during an incident about 5:15 p.m. Saturday at routes 890 and 225. An investigation continues.

DUI, careless driving

MOUNT CARMEL - Lisa Marie Andes, 45, of 622 Scott St., Apt. C, Kulpmont, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell with four misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and summary offenses of speeding, careless driving, not wearing a seat belt and not keeping a current name or address on her license after her vehicle crashed into a tree at 7:22 a.m. Aug. 14.

Blood tests from the night of the crash showed Andes had a blood alcohol level of .186 and numerous prescription medications in her bloodstream.

Andes was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones Tuesday on $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.
