Two-vehicle accident

THARPTOWN - Police here reported charges are pending against Michael Miller, 50, of Danville, in connection with a two-vehicle accident Saturday night at the intersection of 16th Street (Hospital Road) and Route 61.

Coal Township Cpl. Terry Ketchem said Miller was driving a Ford truck on 16th Street (Hospital Road) at 10:10 p.m. toward Route 61 when his vehicle struck the rear end of a Dodge coupe operated by Jesse Bright, 30, of Shamokin, who was stopped at a red light at the intersection with Route 61.

No injuries were reported.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene by Anthracite Towing.

Assisting Ketchem were Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka and Coal Township Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Malukas.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Jeffrey Lee Miller, 24, of 34 N. Market St., and a 17-year-old Mount Carmel juvenile were cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay with harassment for striking each other during a physical fight inside of 34 N. Market St. at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 11 .

Trespassing

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman William Adamski cited Edward Shuder, 34, of 7 Donahue Row, Mount Carmel, David Wengrenovich Jr., 23, of 339 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, and Brent Rosenbaum, 23, of 1404 Hemlock St., Coal Township, with criminal trespass for entering 304 N. Vine St. without permission at 7:40 p.m. Aug. 11.

Disorderly Conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Nicholas Karlaza, 22, of 300 W. Fig St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay with disorderly conduct for making unreasonable noise at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 13 at 300 W. Fig St.

Public drunkenness

MOUNT CARMEL - Steven R. Knock, 23, of 14 S. Willow St., Mount Carmel, was cited with public drunkenness by Patrolman David Donkochik after he became involved in a disturbance and refused to leave the area at 3:40 a.m. Sept. 21.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Carol Brown, 55, of 1533 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Chad Yoder for disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at her residence.

Police reported Brown, who was consuming alcohol, yelled from her front porch, alarming neighbors. Police said Brown was asked to desist, but continued until officers were summoned back to her home.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Rebecca L. Hancock, 31, of 170 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for retail theft for allegedly stealing sunglasses valued at $14.05 from the Dollar General on East Independence Street on Aug. 8.
