Guilty, arrested
SHAMOKIN - Carrie E. Feudale, 24, of 52 S. Pearl St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possessing a loaded syringe, a spoon with white residue and a small plastic baggie at 4:50 p.m. Aug. 1 at her home while Coal Township police were serving an arrest warrant.
Police said the residue on the spoon tested positive for cocaine.
She was sentenced to pay a $300 fine plus court costs and ordered to serve one year of supervised probation.
The charge was filed by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle.
Feudale was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on charges of theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a debit card from her father, Frank Feudale, and taking $716.04 between July 26 and July 30. She was remanded to Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury, on $1,000 bail. Patrolman Matthew Henrich filed the charges.
DUI
MOUNT CARMEL - Daniel J. Renn Jr., 33, of 431 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged with driving under the influence, flight to avoid apprehension, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed after a traffic stop July 26 at Third and Oak streets.
Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman William Adamski reported in court documents he observed Renn driving a pickup truck at a high rate of speed. When police attempted to stop him, Renn drove away before being stopped in the area of West Cherry Street, where he got out of the truck and pleading with police to "not do this."
Police said Renn failed two of the three sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol level of .181 percent.
Renn was placed in Northumberland County Prison on a probation detainer and arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. He was placed back in prison on $10,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 13.
Cell phone theft
SHAMOKIN - Travis Byers, 21, 1618 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was charged by city police with theft after he allegedly stole a Verizon HTC cell phone from Dessira Noll, of 615 W. Pine St., and attempted to sell it for $25 July 17 to a man who tipped off police.
Unlawful restraint
MOUNT CARMEL - Daniel A. Snyder, 29, of 507 W. Olive St., was charged with unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment following an incident at his residence Monday.
Mount Carmel Borough Police reported in court documents Ashley Snyder arrived at Daniel's residence to pick up their kids, and Daniel asked her to enter the house to get the kids' overnight bags. When she entered the home, Daniel, who was hiding behind the basement door, allegedly grabbed her, threw her over his shoulder and carried her upstairs, police said.
Ashley told police Daniel grabbed her and threw her down each time she tried to escape. She also reported Daniel choked her and put her head through the paneling, police said. She said the children were at the home at the time of the assault, police said.
Daniel Snyder was arraigned Tuesday and placed in Northumberland County Prison on $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 13.
Burglary
RIVERSIDE - Samuel P. Jones, 19, of 206 11th St., Danville, was placed in Northumberland County Prison on $50,000 bail after being arraigned Monday on burglary and related charges.
Riverside Police officer Kerry Parkes reported in court documents Jones allegedly took $1,040 in cash from the home of Constance Egli, of Avenue F, Friday and Saturday.
Jones was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and two counts each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, Aug. 13.
Drug paraphernalia
RUSH TOWNSHIP - Wallace E. Seltzer Jr., 29, and Jodi L. Seltzer, 44, both of 33 Hummer Road, Danville, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after Trooper Thomas Leib, of the state police's Stonington barracks, found a glass smoking pipe in their residence during a domestic argument at 11:48 a.m. July 6.
The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel, with preliminary hearings scheduled for both on Aug. 27.
Assault, harassment
SHAMOKIN - Catherine Willis, 46, of 239 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, was charged by city police with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly threw her daughter into a window Saturday.
City police said Willis had been drinking alcohol and began arguing with her daughters. She pushed her younger daughter into a window and grabbed the elder one by the throat and hair, then struck her with a closed fist in the head. A witness observed the fight.
DUI
MOUNT CARMEL - Borough police charged Jill C. Steiff, 26, of 1012 Fountain St., Ashland, with driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .16 or higher, driving on a one-way roadway the wrong way and driving without vehicle registration after a traffic stop in the area of the 00 block of North Oak Street at 1:03 a.m. June 30. Chemical blood testing showed Steiff's blood alcohol level was .17 percent.
Burglary
SHAMOKIN - Crystal Lou Vankirk, 34, and Jason David White, 31, of 1004 N. Orange St., Shamokin, were charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespassing and misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property after allegedly breaking into a house at 1006 N. Orange St. May 28.
City police said Vankirk and White broke into the home through an unlocked window and took a microwave, vacuum/shampooer, battery operated four wheeler, towel rack/vanity, shop vacuum, lamps, surround sound system, stereo, CDs and a Bob Marley blanket. Vankirk and White then sold some of the stolen items, police said.
Police were tipped off to the perpetrators after the battery operated four wheeler belonging to the occupants of 1006 N. Orange St. was discovered in White and Vankirk's adjoining yard.
DUI
KULPMONT - Patrick W. Surace, 48, of 230 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended property and driving without a license following an investigation into a hit-and-run accident and a fight in the 900 block of Pine Street July 21. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 21.
Drugs, drug paraphernalia
SHAMOKIN - Dylan Kane, 19, of 410 N. Shamokin St., Apt. C, Shamokin, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after city police said the Northumberland County Adult Probation Department found several pieces of drug paraphernalia, including a "bong type device," and a small amount of Spice in Kane's apartment at approximately 10 p.m. July 14.
Assault, harassment
COAL TOWNSHIP - Leon Phillips, 43, of 1404 Hemlock St., Coal Township, was charged by township police with simple assault and harassment after allegedly striking Sheila Phillips with his hand during an argument at his home at 9:45 p.m. July 31.
Sunglass theft
STONINGTON - State police are looking for information on the person who stole a pair of sunglasses from Annette Erdman, of West Cameron Township, while her vehicle was parked in the area of 839 W. Coal St., Zerbe Township.

Drug paraphernalia
ATLAS - Mount Carmel Township Police charged Frank J. Mostik III, 33, of 204 Fidler Green Road, Coal Township, with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving without required financial responsibility, driving with a suspended registration and driving without registration and inspection, after a traffic stop in the area of Route 61 and Wilburton Road July 4.
During the stop, police found blue wax paper, commonly used to store a controlled substance, in the vehicle. After the vehicle was impounded, police found more wax papers. A pen and a red straw, both of which contained a white powdery substance, were also found.
Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel, and a preliminary hearing before Jones is scheduled for Aug. 20.
