Liquor law violation

MONTOURSVILLE - Thomas-Brill Veterans Home Association, 141 Shikellamy Ave., Sunbury, was cited by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement Thursday with failing to charge and collect dues, failing to maintain accurate records, permitting a club official or employee operating a game of chance to also participate in the game and selling items to nonmembers. Violations occurred between Sept. 5, 2013, and May 21.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shaina Skocik, 28, of Ashland, was cited for retail theft for an incident at Wal-Mart, Coal Township, July 21.

Coal Township police said Skocik stole $40.41 in unspecified merchandise.
