Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Zachary Ty Knittle, 19, of 133 S. Market St., Elysburg, was charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with a misdemeanor of retail theft involving an incident late Thursday night at Walmart Supercenter.

Police reported Knittle removed four Xbox games from their cases and concealed them in his shorts shortly before midnight. He also is accused of placing other items in shopping bags and attempting to leave the store without paying for the merchandise before being stopped by a Walmart associate and police.

Total value of the merchandise is $153.26.

Terroristic threats

DANVILLE - Jacob Popolow, of Danville, was charged by Trooper Wendy Keefer of state police at Stonington with terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault in connection with a domestic dispute at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at 2438 Snydertown Road.

Aggravated assault

DANVILLE - An aggravated assault charge is pending against Jenny Summers, 21, of Danville, relating to a disturbance at 7:50 p.m. Sunday at Danville State Hospital, according to state police at Milton.

Police said Summers allegedly broke a fire exit door, took a pin out of the door and threw it at Penny Hodish, 50, of Danville, striking her on the left side of the head.

Simple assault

SHAMOKIN - Lawrence Taylor, 26, of 510 E. Commerce St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with simple assault and harassment involving a domestic disturbance at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Taylor is accused of throwing an iPad at his live-in girlfriend, Kassandra Medina, which hit her in the face, causing her lip to bleed. Police said the assault occurred at their home.

Police said the couple had been arguing all day.

Taylor was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum of Sunbury and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $700 bail.

Two cited

SHAMOKIN - Two men were cited by Patrolman William Zalinski in connection with an altercation at 2:45 p.m. July 5 in the 300 block of East Independence Street.

Jason Lichty, 40, of 1149 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was cited for disorderly conduct for allegedly chest bumping Kenneth J. Glosek, 49, of 7 Andrew St., Elysburg, and yelling obscenities at him.

Glosek was cited for harassment for allegedly punching Lichty in the face.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - John Kriner, 59, of 305 W. Spruce St., Shamokin, was cited by Chief of Police Darwin Tobias III for disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling and cursing at people and threatening to burn a vehicle and person at 12:34 p.m. July 5 in his block.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver has cited Josiah Larose, 20, of 2 W. Lincoln St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, for retail theft for allegedly stealing candy from Turkey Hill Minit Market on Second Street at 9:30 p.m. June 28.
