Drug charges filed
MOUNT CARMEL - Members of the Northumberland Montour Drug Task Force and Mount Carmel Borough Police Department charged Michelle M. Brown, 54, of 12 N. Walnut St., with three counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and one charge each of criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility after an investigation into a June 10 incident at her residence.
According to court documents filed by Chief Todd Owens and Patrolman Matthew Dillman, Police used confidential informants to purchase heroin and Percocet from Brown on that date.
She was arraigned June 25 and released on $20,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Fine issued
MOUNT CARMEL - Hassan Quarles, 47, of 901 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was sentenced to pay fines and court costs totaling $514.60 after he pleaded guilty to a summary offense of harassment during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones of Mount Carmel June 25.
Quarles was charged in an April 11 incident when he allegedly made unwanted advances and kissed a 16-year-old female without her consent.
A charge of corruption of minors was withdrawn in the case.
Public nuisance
SHAMOKIN - Russell Kolody, 82, of 603 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, was cited twice by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for allowing several of his properties to be in danger of collapsing.
Primerano cited Kolody for having broken glass, unsecure roofs and shingles falling from roofs of properties he owns at 603, 605, 607, 609, 611, 613 and 615 W. Mulberry St. and at 442 W. Mulberry St. The citations were issued June 26.
