Crash

SELINSGROVE - One person was injured in a collision at 2:04 p.m. June 6.

Michael Keller, 46, of Selinsgrove, was making a left onto North Susquehanna Trail from the Susquehanna Valley Mall entrance when William Getz, 73, of Sunbury, was attempting to make a right turn onto North Susquehanna Trail from the Walmart entrance. The two vehicles collided, and Keller suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were issued traffic citations by state police.

Crime

SELINSGROVE - Jasmine Edwards, 26, of Sunbury, reported to state police $30 was stolen from her unlocked vehicle in the Susquehanna Valley Mall parking lot near Applebees.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Michael Leiby, 29, of 1347 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was charged by Shamokin City Police with disorderly conduct and related charges following an incident June 9 on Second Street.

City Police Cpl. Jarrod Scandle reported he observed Leiby tear a sign from a telephone pole and stagger while walking south on Second Street at 4:30 a.m. Scandle spoke with Leiby, who cursed at the officer, according to court documents. Scandle saw Leiby walk near Turkey Hill and found him inside the store, yelling at patrons and leaning over the counter to talk to the store's clerk.

When Leiby exited the store, Scandle took Leiby into custody.

A search determined Leiby was in possession of a black pipe packed with a partially burnt leafy substance, police said. He was later placed in Northumberland County Prison on a bench warrant.

Shamokin Police charged Leiby with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 5 before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Criminal trespass

SHAMOKIN - Andre Stone, 32, of 612 E. Commerce St. was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment for a incident at 2:32 a.m. Sunday when Stone allegedly entered the home of Johna Swank, of 668 Bear Valley Ave., without permission and assaulted a 14-year-old. Police said in court documents Stone was intoxicated.

A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III will be held on July 22.

PFA violation

SHAMOKIN - David S. Brightbill, 24, of 904 N. Shamokin St., was charged with violating by Shamokin City Police Chief Darwin Tobias III a protection from abuse order.

In court documents, Tobias said Brightbill climbed the fire escape of his ex-girlfriend's apartment Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and yelled at her. The woman has a valid protection from abuse order against Brightbill from Northumberland County Court.

Brightbill was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III Monday and released on $5,000 bail.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich has issued the following citations:

- Joseph R. Hornberger, of 41 S. Oak St., Apt. 6, Coal Township, was cited May 27 for renting a property - 1618 W. Arch St., Coal Township - without an occupancy permit and failing to report status of occupancy within 10 days of a change.

- Thomas A. Griffith, of 45 S. Market St., Shamokin, was cited June 4 for renting a property - 1032 W. Spruce St., Coal Township - without an occupancy permit and failing to obtain the proper inspection and certificate of occupancy prior to permitting occupancy of residence.

Crash

SELINSGROVE - Emily Barben, 21, of New Columbia, was issued a traffic citation by state police after the 2005 Honda Accord she was driving collided with a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Roseanna Hanselman.

Barben was attempting to make a left turn off of Roosevelt Avenue in Monroe Township into the post office parking lot, police said, and was struck by Hanselman. No injuries were reported.
