Criminal mischief
COAL TOWNSHIP - Christina Aponte, 35, of 905 W. Mulberry St., reported the rear driver's side door window of her Dodge Durango was smashed during the early morning hours Friday while it was parked in front of her home and a metal cash box containing $355.31 in cash and assorted checks totaling $121.03 was removed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Coal Township police at 644-0333.
Threats
COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Pesarchick, 45, of 2102 W. Independence St., was charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Coal Township police after an incident at 2:34 a.m. Friday.
Police said Pesarchick, who was intoxicated and allegedly had a gun, approached several police officers, who were dispatched to Pesarchick's home for a disturbance, and was yelling and screaming at police to hit him. Pesarchick was acting aggressively toward police and a stun gun was used, police said. Pesarchick resisted police and refused to be handcuffed, according to police.
A relative told police Pesarchick said he would kill a family member, police said.
Pesarchick was transported to a holding cell at Northumberland County Prison to await arraignment. Coal Township police were assisted by Shamokin police and Ralpho Township police.
Pesarchick was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum Friday and committed to Northumberland County Prison. He was released on $10,000 straight bail.
Noise
THARPTOWN - Mark Shingara, 35, of 323 Center St., was cited by Coal Township police for violating the Coal Township noise ordinance.
Shingara is the owner of a garage in Tharptown where there were people outside the garage making unreasonable noise that disturbed neighbors between the hours of 12:15 and 1 a.m. Monday, police said.
Theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Jeremy D. Weikel, 39, of 427 Main St., Coal Township, has been charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking for allegedly stealing several items from 10 N. Fifth St., owned by Dave McGuinn, of Paxinos, between November 2013 and May.
According to police, Weikel sold a 205,000 BTU New Yorker Oil Furnace for $500 and a 500 gallon oil tank for $125, both of which items were removed from McGuinn's property. Weikel also allegedly removed copper tubing and wiring, steel pipes, two double wall ovens and a Kenmore stove top range from McGuinn's property. The total value of the items taken is approximately $4,500.
Disorderly conduct
WICONISCO TOWNSHIP - Robert Ritchard Shingara, 31, of Shamokin, was charged with disorderly conduct by Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said Shingara was engaged in a loud verbal argument outside of the Wiconsico Fire Company, 387 Arch St., at 1:10 a.m. Sunday in this Dauphin County township.
Harassment
SHAMOKIN - Tonya A. Leschinskie, 34, of 1020 N. Washington St., was charged with harassment after an incident outside of Rob's Goodtime Grill at 10:55 p.m. Friday.
Dog barking
SHAMOKIN - Kelly Moser, 31, of 334 S. Fifth St., was cited for violating the dog barking ordinance for an incident occurring at her home at 11:35 p.m. Saturday.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Jason D. White, 31, of 1004 N. Orange St., was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident at 7:55 p.m. Friday.
White is accused of shoving Bob Young, of 152 E. Cameron St. White is also accused of refusing to desist and acting erratically, police said.
Garbage
SHAMOKIN - Guillermo Ruiz, 50, of 3 S. Shamokin St., was cited Wednesday with code violations and charged with public nuisance infractions and disorderly conduct.
Shamokin Code Officer Rick Bozza said he located a large pile of bagged garbage and debris in the yard of Ruiz's property and issued a code ticket April 14. The garbage was not addressed when Bozza visited the property May 30, June 2 and June 3, and Bozza filed additional code violation citations.
Police inspected the property at 4:30 p.m. June 10 and determined the garbage was still present and creating a public nuisance and health hazard. Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged Guillermo with being a public nuisance and disorderly conduct for creating an offensive condition.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - Robert Broscious, 49, of 25 W. Independence St., was charged June 9 with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended property and violating the open container law May 25.
Shamokin police said witnesses saw Broscious drive at a high rate of speed, squeal the wheels of the truck he was driving and hit a traffic sign in front of the Rite Aid parking lot at 25 W. Independence St., shortly before 10:30 p.m. before exiting his 1997 Ford truck. When officers approached Broscious, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and said Broscious displayed other signs of intoxication and admitted to striking the sign. Broscious was also in possession of an open bottle of Verdi alcoholic wine. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .292 blood alcohol content.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - James Zablonsky, 43, of 53 N. Second St., was charged June 9 with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of failing to obey traffic signals involving an incident May 4.
Shamokin police said Zablonsky was traveling at a high rate of speed at approximately 12:30 a.m. when he failed to yield the right of way to a police cruiser and another vehicle. He then traveled into the opposing lane of traffic and onto the sidewalk before attempting to park facing the wrong direction of traffic. Zablonsky told police he had been consuming alcohol, and exhibited other signs of intoxication, according to police. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .249 BAC.
Hit and run
SHAMOKIN - Shaun Campbell, 31, of 1495 W. Water St., Coal Township, was charged Thursday with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of careless driving relating to an incident April 19.
Police said Campbell struck a parked vehicle before leaving the scene and parking in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Campbell exited the vehicle and sat on the steps of a nearby house, where he was found by the responding officer. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .264 blood alcohol content.
Squealing tires
SHAMOKIN - Jonathan S. Shacklton, 29, of 304 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, driving with a suspended license (DUI related) and squealing tires within the city limits relating to an incident at 10:30 p.m. May 28.
Shamokin police said officers responded to a call regarding a Jeep doing burnouts in the 200 block of Sunbury Street. Shacklton was spotted holding a can of beer while sitting on the porch of a home where the Jeep was parked. Shacklton denied driving the vehicle, but was identified as the driver by several witnesses. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .249 blood alcohol content and the presence of 17 ng/ml of Oxycodone.
Asleep at the wheel
SHAMOKIN - Scott Wright, 31, of 1508 Wabash St., Coal Township, was charged with driving under the influence, possessing drug paraphernalia, obstructing traffic and driving with a suspended license (DUI related) in relation to a May 17 incident.
Shamokin police said Wright fell asleep in the driver's seat of his stopped vehicle shortly at 1 a.m. at a blinking yellow light at the intersection of Sunbury and Shamokin streets. An officer performing a wingspan search located a glass multicolored pipe containing marijuana, some of which was burned. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .131 blood alcohol content and the presence of marijuana.
