Drug paraphernalia
SHAMOKIN - Brianna Rose Axelson, 18, formerly of 40 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with possessing drug paraphernalia.
Police reported Axelson was found in possession of a glass smoking pipe and metal grinder at around 1:30 p.m. Friday at her former residence.
Public nuisance
SHAMOKIN - Chief of Police Darwin Tobias III has charged Ryan Howell, 42, of 126 N. Eighth St., Shamokin, with causing a public nuisance and disorderly conduct.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Howell continuously kept large piles of garbage, discarded food and other waste under his rear porch and in a common entry way, causing a major nuisance to neighbors.
Police said Howell was charged in connection with a May 19 incident.
Drug charge
SHAMOKIN - Kristen Nicole Thomas, 25, of 120 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, was charged by Police Chief Darwin Tobias III with possession of drug paraphernalia involving a June 4 incident at her residence.
Police said multiple empty glassine packs commonly used to package heroin were found on Thomas' possession.
Firearms violation
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Allen Roth, 48, of 621 W. Pine St., Shamokin, with possessing firearms while being a convicted felon.
Police reported Roth, who was convicted of a felony drug offense, was found in possession of two rifles May 29 that he purchased from Calvin Derck III, 39, of 44 S. Sixth St., third floor, Shamokin, who was previously charged with burglary and theft-related offenses for stealing the rifles owned by James Lahr, of 123 S. Market St., Shamokin.
DUI offenses
COAL TOWNSHIP - Derek Wayne Haupt, 21, of 5350 Upper Road, Shamokin, was charged by Trooper James Yankovich of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in a single lane, a turn signal violation, careless driving, a lighting violation and failing to wear a seat belt.
The charges relate to a May 17 traffic stop at North Second and West Independence streets in Coal Township.
Police said Haupt had a blood-alcohol content of .107 percent.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - Lucas Krankowski, 35, of 1701 W. Independence St., Coal Township, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under suspension involving a Nov. 25 traffic stop at Walnut and Owl streets.
Police said Krankowski refused to submit to chemical testing.
