Citations pending

MOUNT CARMEL - Borough police have released information pertaining to a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at Third and Walnut streets.

Diane Sebes, 66, of Kulpmont, was operating a Pontiac Grand Am east on Third Street when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the westbound lane and struck a utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection, police said. The vehicle sustained major front-end damage.

Sebes was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said citations are pending, including careless driving and a stop sign violation. The investigation continues.

Harassment

RANSHAW - A 14-year-old Coal Township male was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly slapping and punching a 17-year-old male from Shamokin in the head and face several times at the Ranshaw playground at 2:15 p.m. March 22.

Police said the teen also poured soda and spit tobacco on the victim's coat.

The victim suffered a minor injury, police said.
