MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Feb. 24 at the Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Courtney Pancher, 20, of 349 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, was sentenced to nine months probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell following a March 10 traffic stop on Locust Gap Highway.
Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and a citation for rear lighting requirements were withdrawn.
n Ryan K. Kristiansen, 25, of 401 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, was sentenced to nine months probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell in connection with a Nov. 20 traffic stop on Route 901.
Two other counts of possession of drug parphernalia were withdrawn.
n A retail theft charge was waived to court by Sean R. Baker, 27, of 18 W. Fifth St., Mount Carmel.
Baker was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush after an alleged theft of medication from Boyer's Food Market Dec. 12.
n Michael J. Katinsky Sr., 61, of 430 W. Fig St., Mount Carmel, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of careless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Shane Reamer in connection with an Oct. 26 traffic stop at Sixth and Poplar streets.
n Andrew L. Spishock, 70, of 819 Centre St., Apt. 202, Ashland, waived a charge of retail theft.
He was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Daniel Politza after allegedly attempting to steal $66.11 of merchandise from Boyer's Food Market Dec. 1.
n Megan Bucher, 21, of 18 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count each of failure to obey traffic control devices and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.
She was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Matthew Dillman following an Oct. 19 incident in the first block of South Apple Street. Police said Bucher had a blood-alcohol content of .170 percent.
n Joshua Daya, 20, of 134 W. Center St., Apt. 2A, Elysburg, waived a felony count of retail theft.
He was charged by Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Bryon Chowka for allegedly stealing $18.63 of merchandise from Sheetz between Aug. 29 and Sept. 29. The charge is a felony because the incident is the third time Daya has been charged with retail theft.
n Gerald R. O'Brien, 56, of 28 Perry Ave., Lot 19, Bloomsburg, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The charges were filed by Riverside Police Patrolman Gerard Zeidler relating to a Dec. 6 incident at Avenue G and Snyder's Lane. Police reported O'Brien had a blood-alcohol content of .296 percent.
n Two counts of driving under the influence and a citation for careless driving were waived to court by Joseph P. Cirrilla, 27, of 139B Hastings Ave., Rutherford, N.J.
Cirrilla was charged by Riverside Borough Police Patrolman Kerry Parkes following a Nov. 24 accident on Avenue E.
n Jolene E. Reich, 39, of 550 Spruce St., Kulpmont, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and a tire equipment violation.
She was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell following a Nov. 17 incident on Route 61 in Atlas. Police reported Reich had a blood-alcohol content of .11 percent.
