One hurt
ELYSBURG - A Bloomsburg woman was injured in a two vehicle crash at 11:30 a.m. Thursday on East Center Street.
Ralpho Township Police said a vehicle operated by Deborah Rundle, of Monroe Avenue, Bloomsburg, was traveling south on Route 487 when it struck the rear of a pick-up truck operated by Maurice Geary, of Rushtown Road, Danville, that was attempting to turn onto East Center Street.
Rundle was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by Elysburg paramedics. Geary and his passenger, Sandy Geary, were not injured.
Assisting police at the scene were members of the Elysburg Fire Department. Police said the investigation is continuing.
Car into house
MOUNT CARMEL - A Mount Carmel man may have suffered a medical condition when he crashed an Oldsmobile into the front of a double-home at 420-422 E. Third St., around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. The man, who was not identified by police, was transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for a blood test, police said. Little to no damage occurred to the house or car.
One-vehicle crash
THARPTOWN - An unoccupied vehicle drifted through a parking lot near the entrance to the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital Wednesday afternoon and crashed into a tree, causing extensive damage to the rear bumper and trunk.
Coal Township police reported Shirley Kessler, 47, of Trevorton, failed to set the parking brake on her 2010 Kia after parking near a handicapped space at the entrance doors. The car then coasted backward shortly after 2 p.m. before turning right and traveling across a helipad and down an embankment. The car stopped after hitting a tree and was towed from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
Steals rings
COAL TOWNSHIP - Chanda Hine, 38, of 1446 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, has been charged by Patrolman David Sage with stealing two rings valued at $89.96 belonging to her neighbor, Joy Kulenguskey, of 1444 Pulaski Ave.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Hine removed a package containing the rings from Kulenguskey's mailbox Dec. 3.
Theft charges
COAL TOWNSHIP - John F. Monterosso, 59, of 327 Centre St., Ashland, was charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a coat owned by Eleanor Shulskie from a waiting room in the emergency room department at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital Dec. 29. The coat is valued at $40.
Stalking
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Darwin Tobias III has charged Joshua L. Scandle, 34, of Coal Township, with stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct involving a Dec. 7 disturbance at 225 S. Fourth St.
Police said Scandle allegedly threatened to slit the throat of his former girlfriend, Brooke Fratelli, burn her house down and cut the brake line on her vehicle.
After being warned by police to avoid contact with Fratelli, Scandle allegedly sent a picture via text to the victim's residence and indicated he saw police respond to Fratelli's complaint.
Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Richard A. Armstrong, 32, of 125 E. Arch St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with retail theft for allegedly stealing baseball cards, an iPhone case, DVD player and other items valued at $135.42 from Walmart Supercenter along Route 61 on Dec. 18.

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Raymond Siko II has charged Scott K. Collins Jr., 30, of 310 N. Shamokin St., second-floor apartment, with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana relating to a Dec. 22 incident at his apartment building.

SHAMOKIN - Richard J. Giedosh Jr., 22, of 702 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia involving a Dec. 22 incident at his home.

MOUNT CARMEL - John D. Gilbert, 46, of 231 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Kevin Katch with retail theft for allegedly stealing a can of Spam valued at $2.50 and attempting to remove other items from the Dollar General store at 250 S. Market St. Nov. 18.

MOUNT CARMEL - Ronald W. Hain Jr., 41, of 221 E. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Justin Stelma with driving under the influence of alcohol involving a Dec. 21 vehicle stop in the 200 block of East Seventh Street.
Police said Hain had a blood-alcohol content of .16 percent.
DUI
MOUNT CARMEL - Cpl. David Donkochik filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and a turning violation against Robert C. Beaver, 50, of 403 Columbia Ave., Aristes, relating to a Sept. 28 incident at Second and Maple streets.
Police said Beaver had a blood-alcohol content of .21 percent and also was under the influence of amphetamines.
Criminal trespass
M0UNT CARMEL - Charges of criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were filed by Patrolman William Adamski against Michael P. McFadden, 42, of 251 E. Buick St., Mount Carmel.
Police reported McFadden was charged in connection with a Nov. 24 disturbance in the 100 block of East Fifth Street.
DUI
RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Roseann M. Shannon, 35, of 2 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Christopher Grow with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension and careless driving involving a Dec. 4 accident at Sheetz along Route 487 in Elysburg.
Police said Shannon refused to submit to chemical testing.
DUI
RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Chris Dailey has charged Michael G. Cobin, 65, of 2351 Stetler Drive, Coal Township, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and damage to unattended property involving a Dec. 7 accident at 293 Overlook Blvd. in which his vehicle struck trees several times and caused $1,524 damage to landscaped property.
Police said Cobin had a blood-alcohol content of .153 percent.

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Joseph R. Brodie, 34, of 1213 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was charged by Officer Christopher Grow with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of marijuana, failure to drive in a single lane, a high-beam violation and a turning violation.
The charges relate to an Aug. 31 vehicle stop at the intersection of Route 54 and Quarry Road.
Police said Brodie had a blood-alcohol content of .237 percent.

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Joshua M. Daya, 30, of 134 W. Center St., Apt. 2A, Elysburg, was charged by Cpl. Bryon Chowka with retail theft for allegedly stealing $18.63 in merchandise from Sheetz in Elysburg between Aug. 29 and Sept. 29.

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Sean R. Baker, 27, of 18 W. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush with retail theft for allegedly stealing medication valued at $15.51 from Boyer's Food Market Dec. 12.

COAL TOWNSHIP - A new sweatshirt found lying on the street in the east end of the township was turned in to police. The owner can claim the shirt by contacting police at 644-0333.
