Theft from car

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Schleig, 44, told Coal Township Police someone entered his vehicle and removed a Dynex Portable DVD player valued at $200, a Sirius radio antenna valued at $40 and approximately $2 in change from the console area sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Coal Township Police at 570-644-0333.

3 escape injury

SHEPPTON - Three Mount Carmel residents escaped injury in a one-car accident at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 924 south of this Schuylkill County community.

State police at Frackville reported Rebecca J. Thompson, 24, was driving a 1997 Ford Escort south on the highway when the car exited the road and struck guard rail on the east berm. The auto was towed from the scene.

Thompson and her two passengers, Sarah Thompson, 22, and Rachel Thompson, 18, were all wearing seat belts and escaped injury.
