MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court on Jan. 20 in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Randy L. Campbell, 19, of 815 Ash St., Kulpmont, waived charges of possession of a controlled substance, misbranding or adulterating a controlled substance, driving without lights to avoid being detected, driving without lights between sunset and sunrise and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Michael Pitcavage filed the charges involving a May 28 incident along Arcos Road in Strong when Campbell was allegedly in possession of acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride.

n Charges of possession of a controlled substance were ordered bound to court against Britteny N. Obrien, 29, of 433 W. Third St., Mount Carmel, and Frederick T. Holmes, 45, of 550 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, when the two defendants failed to show for their respective hearings.

Both were charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Matthew Dillman following a domestic incident at Obrien's house where police found marijuana. Obrien and Holmes each claimed the marijuana belonged to the other person.

n Charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night against Blake Boyer, 19, of 718 Centre St., Ashland, were withdrawn after the victim refused to testify.

The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Borough Police Lt. Chris Buhay following an Oct. 17 incident at an East Fifth Street residence.

n Dustyn Kolenda, 18, of 207 Huffman Lane, Muncy, waived charges of criminal conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle and three counts each of receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle during his preliminary hearing.

He was charged by Riverside Police Officer Kerry Parkes following the investigation into a series of vehicle break-ins along Avenue F in Riverside Nov. 8 and 9.

n Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia were waived to court by Alyssa M. Taylor, 21, of 1032 W. Spruce St., Shamokin.

The charges, filed by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Matthew Dillman, stem from an incident on East Avenue on Oct. 20.

n Jade Swank, 21, of 262 Roadarmel Lane, Paxinos, waived charges of retail theft during her hearing.

She was charged with stealing $107.67 worth of merchandise from the CVS Pharmacy on the Locust Gap Highway. The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman David Stamets Jr.

n Denny E. Keim, 37, of Mount Carmel, waived charges of possession of a controlled substance, possess of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Kulpmont Police Patrolman Michael Pitcavage filed the charges following a traffic stop on North Sixth Street, Kulpmont, May 25.

n Brandon T. Chapman, 19, of 119 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced by Jones to one year probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs.

Chapman was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik who arrested him on an active warrant.

Two other counts of possession of drug paraphernalia were withdrawn in the case.

n Charges of driving under the influence, driving the maximum speed limits, driving with a suspended license, and possession of a controlled substance, were waived to court by Travis C. Beam, 50, of 35 Bower St., Shenandoah.

Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Christopher Grow filed the charges following a traffic stop in the area of All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, June 3.

n Lelo L. Shingara, 47, of 311 Shingara Lane, Sunbury, waived charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, driving without registration and driving without an inspection sticker.

Kulpmont Police Patrolman Michael Pitcavage filed the charges following a traffic stop on North Sixth Street, Kulpmont, May 25.

n Aaron E. Pollock, 25, of 431 Main St., Coal Township, saw charges of driving under the influence, careless driving, driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed and failure to observe stop signs ordered bound to court by Jones after Pollock failed to appear for the hearing.

He was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman David Stamets Jr. following an April 13 traffic stop on Route 61 heading toward Kulpmont.
