Motorcyclist injured

GOWEN CITY - A Royersford man suffered what state police described as a "major injury" Saturday after he struck fence posts along Route 125 and was thrown from a motorcycle.

Timothy R. Kronstain, 32, was wearing a helmet at the time of the 1 p.m. crash, according to state police at Stonington. He was taken by AREA Services ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was listed in serious condition Sunday night.

Kronstain was driving a 2007 Honda 1300 south in East Cameron Township when he lost control of the motorcycle along a curve. He veered off the roadway and struck fence posts, causing him to be thrown to the ground.

Reports from the scene Saturday indicated he had veered to avoid an animal, although police did not include that in a public information report.

Police said he will be cited for speeding.
