Hit and run
EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Upper Road (Route 2044) near Route 125.
Police said a vehicle was traveling east when its right rear end struck the left front end of a 2004 Ford Explorer parked on the shoulder of the road. The hit-and-run driver then continued east without stopping.
Encourages truancy
SHAMOKIN - Stephanie Howell, 36, of 126 N. Eighth St., Shamokin, was cited by Chief of Police Edward Griffiths for corruption of minors for encouraging children to commit truancy by providing them shelter at her residence Sept. 6.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Michelle A. McCrary, 28, of 101 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Mark Costa for disorderly conduct and harassment involving a disturbance at 6 p.m. Tuesday outside her residence.
Police reported McCrary struck Melissa Howard, 38, of 103 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, in the face, causing a red mark under her eye. She also is accused of fighting and using obscene language toward Howard and Alexis Barnes.
Abandoned vehicles
SHAMOKIN - Shawn H. Shultz, 46, of 1406 Wabash St., Coal Township, and Robert Gilligbauer, 47, of 303 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, were cited by Patrolman Shane Mowery for a violating a city abandoned vehicle ordinance Sept. 3 in a city lot in the 200 block of North Rock Street.
Police said vehicles owned by Shultz and Gilligbauer had inspection and registration violations.
Code violations
KULPMONT - Borough code enforcement officer Russ Moroz has cited the following individuals for code violations. The citations were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel.
Dan Luzon, of 351 W. 262nd St., Bronx, N.Y., was cited for failure to secure and maintain a commercial property he owns at 1340/1400 Chestnut St.
George Atiyeh, owner of Apartments and Acquistions, LP, 1102 Fullerton Ave., Allentown, was cited for a dangerous structure at 955-957 Chestnut St., where a porch is in danger of collapsing.
Atiyeh, as the owner of Northeast Apartments LLC, was also cited for improper disposal of trash at a rental property he owns at 951 Scott St.
Owner cited
SHAMOKIN - Raymond G. Splane, of 79 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, was cited Monday by Code Enforcement Officer Rick Bozza for allowing water to dispense from a roof at his property at 809 N. Sixth St.
Bozza said Splane was notified of the issue verbally and through the mail on numerous occasions during the past 18 months.
