Ordinance violations
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has filed three more citations against Larry S. Burda, 63, of 701 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, for allowing his property at 701-703 N. Shamokin St. to deteriorate. Materials were seen falling off the roof, causing a danger to citizens and other buildings, police said.
Burning violation
COAL TOWNSHIP - James K. Moore III, 26, of 507 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, and Richard Zimmerman, 18, of 224 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, were cited by Coal Township police for burning for allegedly starting a fire on the property of Kenneth Snyder off Big Mountain Road at 9:22 p.m. Monday.
Zimmerman also was cited for underage drinking in connection with the same incident.
Disorderly conduct
COAL TOWNSHIP - Two 16-year-old Coal Township males and two 16-year-old boys from Shamokin were cited by Coal Township police for disorderly conduct for allegedly throwing approximately three dozen eggs at parked cars Saturday in the Coal Township-Shamokin area.
Two injured
HEGINS TOWNSHIP - Jessica R. Rafter, 29, of Trevorton, and Harry Wehry Jr., 46, of Dornsife, suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of Main Street (Route 25) and Good Spring Road in this Schuylkill County township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 1998 Dodge Stratus driven by Rafter pulled onto Main Street to make a left turn and struck the left rear quarter panel of a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 truck operated by Wehry. Police said the car glanced off the truck and hit the left front side of a trailer attached to Wehry's truck. After striking the trailer, Rafter's car traveled into the westbound lane of Main Street and collided with a 2007 Ford Five Hundred operated by Wendy M. Geist, 62, of Hegins.
As a result of the crash, potatoes fell from the trailer of the truck and scattered along the road.
Police said Rafter was transported by Hegins Ambulance to Schuylkill Medical Center East in Pottsville. Wehry suffered a minor injury, but reportedly was not transported by ambulance to a hospital. Geist and her passenger, Jeremiah T. Oxenrider, escaped injury.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene by Mark Hammer's Towing.
Police said Rafter was cited for a stop sign/yield sign violation.
Assisting at the scene were members of Hegins and Valley View fire companies and fire police.
