Car crash

CENTRALIA - No injuries occurred in a rear-end collision at the intersection of state routes 61 and 42 in this Columbia County village on Monday. A Honda Civic, operated by Rebekah Carpenter, 19, of Annville, struck a Kia Rio, operated by Bill Sierdzinski, 65, of Ashland, while it was stopped at a stop sign in the southbound lane of Route 42. The Kia was driven from the scene. The Honda had to be towed.

Two-vehicle crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at 3 p.m. Monday, on Route 61 near Sunbury.

State police at Stonington say a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Natasha L. Toccket, 23, of Sunbury, was following a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jeffrey L. Noll, 56, of West Milton, on Route 61. Noll stopped his vehicle for slowed traffic and was struck from behind by the Jetta. No one was injured in the crash, but the Jetta had to be towed from the scene.

Police say Toccket will be cited for the crash.

Rock causes crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two vehicles were damaged in an accident caused by a rock in the roadway on Route 54 near the Aqua Pa. water company.

Coal Township Police say a 2002 Chrysler vehicle, driven by Carol Trombley, 57, of 24 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was traveling east on Route 54 when it struck a rock that had fallen into the roadway. Trombley's vehicle sustained minor damage and two flat tires.

A second vehicle, a 2006 Hyundai, driven by Alison Houser, 21, of 34 Brown Lane, Ashland, also struck the rock and sustained minor damage and a flat passenger side front tire.
