COAL TOWNSHIP - Sherry Dampman, of 1780 Park Ave., told township police someone scratched the hood of her 2012 Toyota while it was parked near her residence. The damage occurred between noon Tuesday and 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information regarding the damage is asked to contact police at 644-0333.
PFA violation
MOUNT CARMEL - Janet L. Katinsky, 50, of Springbrooke Campground Site No. 49, Catawissa, was charged with indirect criminal contempt after violating a protection from abuse order May 30 in the 400 block of West Fig Street.
Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik reported in court documents that Katinsky allegedly drove past her husband, Michael Katinsky, and made an obscene gesture and shouted at him. She also drove near a vehicle he was operating, yelled and made an obscene gesture at him.
She was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and a hearing was scheduled for Wednesday.
Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas Ferrari, 45, of Atlas, was cited for retail theft by Coal Township Police Patrolman Chad Yoder after allegedly leaving Walmart SuperCenter in Coal Township without paying for $24.53 worth of food. The theft occurred at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday, and the citation was filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III of Shamokin.
