Harassment
KULPMONT - Devon R. Smith, 27, of Shamokin, and David J. Swatski, 69, of Kulpmont, were cited by state police at Stonington following an incident at 7:09 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Oak Street when the two were reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute which turned into a physical confrontation.
Police cited both men for harassment and disorderly conduct.
Simple assault
KULPMONT - Michael J. McGinley, 26, of 554 Chestnut St., Apt. 1, Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Michael Pitcavage with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct relating to an April 26 disturbance at his apartment.
Police said McGinley is accused of grabbing his girlfriend, Christine Jeffrey, by the throat, slamming her into a wall and throwing her down the living room steps.
Police said Jeffrey complained of severe back pain and suffered red marks on her neck and chest. She underwent emergency room treatment at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital before being released.
Theft charges
KULPMONT - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka against Joseph Phillipine, 29, of 831 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Phillipine allegedly stole a 2012 Yamaha dirt bike owned by Nick Bozza, of 1121 Scott St., Kulpmont.
Police said the dirt bike was stolen from Bozza's shed between July 27 and July 29.
