Burglary
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here are investigating a burglary at 1412 W. Lynn St. that occurred between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 23.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call police at 644-0333.
DUI
ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Kenneth Carl Bordner Jr., 39, of 924 Sunshine Road, Shamokin, has been charged by Trooper Thomas Leib of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without proper registration, driving under suspension, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt.
The charges relate to a May 5 traffic stop along Miller's Hill Road, just south of Route 225 in Zerbe Township.
Police reported Bordner had a blood-alcohol level of .112 percent.
DUI
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - Trooper Nicholas Berger of state police at Stonington charged Brad David Latshaw, 40, of 1207 N. Pearl St., Shamokin, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in a single lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt.
Police said Latshaw had a blood alcohol content of .161 percent.
The charges involve a May 11 traffic stop on Route 61 in front of the state police station.
Unregistered vehicle
MOUNT CARMEL - Joanne E. Andruscavage, 33, of 143 Beaverdale St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Cpl. David Donkochik with two counts of altering or forging plates, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without proper inspection and driving without insurance in connection with an April 19 incident in the 300 block of West Second Street.
Drug offenses
MOUNT CARMEL - Melinda Sue Bugg, 25, of South Apple Street, Mount Carmel, was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on charges of criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver mushrooms and marijuana, possession of mushrooms and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children by having a controlled substance within access of a child.
Bugg was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $30,000 bail.
The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Police Chief Todd Owens and Patrolman Matthew Dillman in connection with a Dec. 21 incident at her home.
Drug charges
RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Sean P. Keegan, 27, of 9 N. Sixth St., Shamokin, was charged by Ralpho Township Patrolman Christopher Grow with possessing multiple bags of heroin and possessing drug paraphernalia March 7 along Route 487 in Elysburg.
Theft charges
MOUNT CARMEL - Skyler M. Dornsife, 18, of 615 E. Webster St., Shamokin, was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $10,000 bail after being arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on two counts of criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Mount Carmel Cpl. David Donkochik, Dornsife stole $2,900 from the residence of Brenda and Robert Taylor, of 130 W. Second St., between May 4 and May 5.
PFA
KULPMONT - Robert L. Persing, 22, of 1 Clarion St., Shamokin, was charged by Kulpmont Patrolman Patrick McAndrew with violating a protection from abuse order by calling and texting Brooke Mulac on May 19 at 919 Chestnut St., Apt. A, Kulpmont.
DUI
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Michael R. Wisnoskie, 19, of 76 Church St., Locust Gap, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with two counts of driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and a lighting violation.
The charges relate to a March 16 traffic stop along Route 901 near the former Boylan's Service Station.
Burglary offenses
MOUNT CARMEL - Daniel C. Roden, 22, of 501 E. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief relating to an incident at a property under renovation at 250 E. Second St. that was damaged by fire in 2012.
Roden is charged by Patrolman Jason Drumheller with stealing a bear skin rug from the property between March 7 and April 25.
He was committed by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury after failing to post $25,000 bail.
Aggravated assault
KULPMONT - Kevin Michael Reed, 22, of 337 E. Center St., Mount Carmel, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness involving disturbances on April 27 at Tenth and Maple streets.
Reed, who was committed by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $20,000 bail, is accused by Patrolman Michael Pitcavage of punching out the windshield and passenger side window on a red Volkswagen owned by West End Automotive, screaming profanities at police, head-butting Pitcavage, resisting arrest and threatening to kick out the back windows on a police car upon being taken into custody.
While at Kulpmont Police Station, police said Reed kicked a hole in a wall and threatened to spit on AREA Ambulance Services employees when they attempted to treat him for a bleeding wrist.
Drug paraphernalia
MOUNT CARMEL - Larissa Justina Voeckler, 26, of 127 N. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Cpl. David Donkochik with possession of drug paraphernalia involving an April 22 incident at her residence.
Simple assault
MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct were filed by Patrolman Kevin Katch against Belinda Sue Smith, 20, of 18 E. Railroad St., Apt. 1, Mount Carmel.
Smith is accused of slapping Christian Gartner in the face, ripping his shirt and tackling him. She also is charged with punching Erica Jones in the face, wrestling her to the ground, slamming her face on the pavement and choking her while trapping her between a vehicle tire and the curb.
Police said the assaults occurred May 15 in the first block of East Railroad Street.
Criminal trespass
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Jeffrey M. Murphy, 30, of 295 Slabtown Road, Apt. 1A, Catawissa, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with two counts of criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, criminal attempt to tamper with evidence and defiant trespass relating to a May 26 break-in at Joe's Auto Body in Natalie.
Murphy was arraigned on the charges and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $50,000 bail.
He waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday and was ordered to appear for plea court July 8 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
PFA
KULPMONT - Patrolman Patrick McAndrew charged Shane M. Wallace, 32, of Kulpmont, with violating a protection from abuse order filed against him by Kaitlyn Else, of 1339 Scott St.
Police said the incident occurred April 30 at Else's residence, where Wallace formerly resided.
Charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment filed by Patrolman Michael Pitcavage against Wallace were dismissed Wednesday when Else refused to testify against him.
Wallace was charged with committing the crimes March 30 at Else's residence.
