Correction

A Police Blotter item published April 22 reported an accident involving a vehicle being driven by Bridget Mae Laudenslager, 19, of Herndon, striking a vehicle driven by Doris Glace, 77, of Dalmatia, while Glace turned off Route 225 near the White Oak Tavern in Jackson Township. Police did not provide any further details as to how the accident occurred. However, they did cite Glace for a turning violation, and that fact was not reported in the initial accident story.

Two-vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two vehicles sustained extensive damage in an accident Saturday afternoon on Route 61 at the intersection near Burger King.

Patrolman Jason Adams said Christine Ziemba, 29, of Shamokin, was driving a red Buick Century south on the highway at about 3:30 p.m. when her auto was struck by a silver Ford Ranger truck operated by James Craze, 76, of Coal Township, who failed to stop for a red light while he was crossing Route 61 to enter Burger King.

Ziemba and Craze declined medical treatment at the scene.

Both vehicles were towed.

Craze was cited for a red light violation.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Gary A. Cook, 32, and Tiffany A. Benelisha, 30, both of 1013 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, were cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for disorderly conduct for yelling at 10:45 p.m. Saturday near their residence, causing neighbors to be alarmed.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Raymond Siko II has cited Geoffrey Koser, 27, of 615 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to an incident shortly after 9:30 p.m. April 20 in the 100 block of North Anthracite Street.

Police reported Koser urinated in public.

Teen cited

SHAMOKIN - A 16-year-old Shamokin male was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for riding a skateboard on a sidewalk on Independence Street near Cleaver Street at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, violating a city ordinance.

DUI, drugs

KULPMONT - Robert W. Buettner Jr., 22, of 6 Polk Lane, Elysburg, was charged by Patrolman Patrick McAndrew with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, a lighting violation and driving without a license involving a May 21, 2012, pursuit that started in the 900 block of Chestnut Street.

Police said Buettner was found with marijuana, cocaine, benzoylecgonine and morphine in his blood system.

Buettner also was charged by Kulpmont Patrolman Michael Pitcavage with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a May 11, 2012, incident in which police found a multi-colored glass pipe containing black residue that belonged to Buettner.

Theft by deception

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Richard Trumper, 38, of Mifflinburg, has been charged by Cpl. Bryon Chowka with theft by deception, deceptive or fraudulent business practices and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received.

According to a criminal complaint, Trumper was paid $15,965.16 to make improvements to the home of Jason and Jamie Brent, of 10 Lime St., Elysburg, but failed to complete the work or return the money.

Police said the offenses occurred between Oct. 18, 2011, and May 30, 2012.
