Suspect sought
MONROE TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove are continuing their search for a white male between the ages of 16 and 18 who allegedly stole several clothing items from Boscov's in the Susquehanna Valley Mall at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said the suspect has dark hair with a buzz cut and goatee and was wearing white gym shorts and a dark colored jacket.
Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call state police at 374-8145.
Two cited
SHAMOKIN - John Derr, 24, of 238 S. Grape St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct involving an April 15 incident at the residence of his girlfriend, Kimberly Kastle, 20, of 36 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin.
Police said Derr, who was wanted by police, entered Kastle's home, hid in a bedroom and refused to exit the room despite being warned several times to come out. Kastle was cited by Scandle for disorderly conduct for providing police with false information regarding Derr's whereabouts.
Tools stolen
COAL TOWNSHIP - Richard J. Madden, 27, of 1000 W. Willow St., Coal Township, told police someone entered a garage at 1002 W. Willow St. owned by Caylee Hoover and removed mechanical tools and drawers from a 5-foot metal tool box, all of which is owned by Madden.
Police said the tools are valued at $20,000 to $25,000 while the drawers in the tool box are valued at approximately $5,000.
Police said the thief or thieves gained entry to the garage through a window.
The burglary occurred between April 19 and Thursday.
Furnishes alcohol
BLOOMSBURG - Jordan Michael Sinopoli, 22, of Kulpmont, was cited by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for furnishing alcohol to minors relating to an April 19 incident in Bloomsburg.
Underage drinking
BLOOMSBURG - Julia Ann Castanzo, 19, of Scranton; Ryan Michael Burns, 19, of Coal Township, and Amanda Rae Daniel, 19, of Dillsburg, were cited by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for underage drinking involving an April 19 incident in Bloomsburg.
Assault
COAL TOWNSHIP - Curt Elwood Phillips, 49, of 1312 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, has been charged by Deputy Police Chief Christopher Williams with burglary, simple assault and harassment involving a disturbance shortly after 4:30 a.m. Friday at 118 N. Poplar St.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Phillips broke into the residence through the front door and punched Jeffrey Burns, 48, of Coal Township, several times in the face while he was on a couch with Phillips' estranged wife, Debbie Phillips. Burns suffered a laceration over his left eye that required emergency room treatment at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
Phillips also was charged by Williams with violating a protection from abuse order filed by his wife that prohibited him from having contact with her.
Phillips was arraigned at 9:30 a.m. Friday on all the charges by Gembic and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $15,000 cash bail. He posted bail later in the day and was released.
Simple assault
SHAMOKIN - Aaron Bressi, 32, of 1727 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman William Zalinski with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct relating to an April 19 disturbance at Market and Chestnut streets.
Police reported Bressi is accused of attacking Thomas Smith from behind and punching him in the face, causing a bloody lip and swelling on the right side of his face.
Police said the assault occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m.
