Held for court
SHAMOKIN - Daniel Ernest Albertson, 23, an inmate at SCI-Rockview and formerly of Ranshaw, was held for court Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, possessing a firearm without a license, criminal mischief and attempting to sell a firearm without being a licensed firearm dealer.
Albertson is charged by Trooper Angela Jankoviak with breaking into the residence of George Stiely, of 153 Hart St., Zerbe Township, and stealing a Sentry safe containing approximately $7,000 in cash, various collectable coins, approximately 15 watches, various gold rings and necklaces, a Colt 32 pistol, approximately $20 in half dollars, property deeds and a personal will.
Police said the burglary occurred May 11, 2012.
Albertson, whose preliminary hearing was conducted by video, was ordered by Gembic to appear for plea court June 3 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, where he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
