Accident under investigation
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police continue to look for the driver involved in an accident in Burnside at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers say that the vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Robert J. Shipe, of 511 S. Market St., Shamokin. was severely damaged in the wreck on Route 125 and had to be towed from the scene. The driver, who is unknown at this point, fled from the accident. Police say the accident is still under investigation.
One-vehicle accident
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - A Dalmatia man suffered a minor injury in a crash on Route 225 near Hepner Road in Lower Mahanoy Township at 9 p.m. Monday.
State police at Stonington report a 2011 Kia Soul, driven by Kevin M, Ray, 20, of Dalmatia, was traveling north on Route 225 when he lost control of the vehicle after it began to slide. The Soul traveled off the road and struck the front corner of a home.
The vehicle had to be towed from the area and Ray was treated at the scene. Police say he was cited for failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed for conditions. Assisting police at the scene were the Hickory Corners Fire Department and the Americus Hose Company Ambulance.
