Retail theft
COAL TOWNSHIP - Brandie Dietrich, 20, of 213 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, and a 16-year-old female from Ashland have been charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with retail theft for concealing $112.23 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 61 and leaving the store without paying for the items Dec. 24.
Police said Deitrich and the teen were apprehended by security personnel in the store parking lot.
Student charged
COAL TOWNSHIP - A 16-year-old male from Coal Township has been charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with harassment relating to a Feb. 7 disturbance at Shamokin Area Middle/Senior High School.
Police said the student threatened to punch a teacher and made obscene and lewd remarks toward the teacher in the classroom.
Heater/fan stolen
COAL TOWNSHIP - Phillip Bilbay, 38, of 1039 W. Water St., Coal Township, told police someone entered his 1998 Chevy Cavalier and removed a 12-volt heater/fan valued at $30.
Police said the theft occurred Saturday or Sunday.

Car hits pole
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Daniel D. Bixler, 47, of Herndon, escaped injury Tuesday when his car struck a utility pole and ditch along Route 147 west of Mountain Road.
State police at Stonington reported Bixler was driving a 2001 Buick Century north at 5:30 p.m. when his vehicle exited the highway and traveled onto the shoulder, where it struck a utility pole with its left front end. The car then continued to travel north and hit a ditch with its front end before spinning and stopping.
Car crash
SNYDERTOWN - Miriam E. Fultz, 49, of Sunbury, and her passenger, Renee S. George, 23, of Snydertown, were not injured Tuesday in a weather-related accident along Snydertown Road near Kampco Industries.
State police at Stonington said Fultz was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla west at 11:49 a.m. when she lost control of the car on the snow-covered road, causing Corolla to strike guard rail.
Driver injured
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Chelsie L. Radel, 21, of Sunbury, was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday at the intersection of Mill Road and Penns Drive in this Snyder County township.
According to state police at Selinsgrove, Radel was driving a 2010 Nissan Sentra west on Mill Road at 1:41 p.m. when the car traveled off the road and descended an embankment while she was negotiating a curve.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
No injuries
WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP - Alicia Riley, 22, of Elysburg, and a 1-year-old male passenger from Elysburg escaped injury shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday when Riley lost control of the vehicle she was driving east on New Columbia Road in this Union County township. The vehicle left the road and hit several small trees.
State police at Milton reported Riley's vehicle was towed from the scene.
Fatal crash
UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP - State police at Lykens reported Lorena Lemons, 70, of Millersburg, died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash Tuesday morning along Route 147 near Elmer Avenue in this Dauphin County township.
Police said Lemons was operating a 2006 Ford Escape that collided head-on with a 2004 Nissan Titan truck operated by Justin Wallace, 30, of Millersburg.
Lemons was transported to Harrisburg Hospital, where she died. Wallace, who suffered moderate injuries, was transported to Hershey Medical Center, where he underwent emergency room treatment.
Both vehicles were demolished in the 11:30 a.m. accident.
Vehicle rolled
WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP - Ashley L. London, 23, of Lewisburg, suffered moderate injuries Tuesday morning when the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving left Route 405, struck a wooden post, rolled and landed on its roof in Mindy's Tavern parking lot.
State police at Milton reported London was traveling south at about 9 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve, causing the Cobalt to exit the right side of the road.
London, who was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, was transported by William Cameron Ambulance to Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Charges pending
DANVILLE - Assault charges are pending against a 21-year-old Harrisburg woman who is a patient at Danville State Hospital in connection with two incidents that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the state hospital.
State police at Milton reported the patient was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with staff members at 3:15 p.m. and kicked staff member Susan Zimmerman, 52, of Ashland, in the groin area while Zimmerman was attempting to calm her down.
Police said the same patient also allegedly struck staff member Vicki Williams, 39, of New Columbia, in the wrist and spit in her face at 5 p.m.
Police did not identify the suspect.
