Two-vehicle crash

BARRY TOWNSHIP - Two Ashland residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:59 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Sunbury Road and Deep Creek Road in this Schuylkill County township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven report a 2001 Toyota Corolla, driven by Irene Wesner, 85, of Ashland, was turning left from a stop sign on Deep Creek Road to travel west on Route 901 when the vehicle traveled into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Andrea M. Bucher, 26, of Mount Carmel, which was traveling east on Route 901.

The Corolla's front end struck the Cruze's front passenger side, police said. After impact, Wesner's vehicle rotated counterclockwise and traveled approximately 40 feet northeast, coming to rest in the oncoming travel lane. Bucher's vehicle came to rest on the westbound shoulder.
