Rollover crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two vehicles had to be towed from the scene following a crash on Route 61 near Northwestern Academy Drive, at 7:37 p.m. Monday.

Coal Township Police Patrolman Terry Ketchem reported a Ford Taurus sedan, driven by Jonathan Krah, 22, of Panama City, Fla., was traveling in the northbound lane of travel on Route 61 when he struck the rear of a Ford Ranger truck driven by Donald Wolfgang, 28, of Coal Township.

After Krah struck the rear of Wolfgang's vehicle, his vehicle hit the embankment on the shoulder of the road, causing the Taurus to roll onto its roof. Police said there were unknown injuries.

Assisting police were members of the Coal Township Fire Department.

Icy crash

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a crash at 5:45 p.m. Monday along Route 225 near the intersection with Hatchery Road in Lower Mahanoy Township.

State police at Stonington report a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Troy W. Masser, 33, of Williamstown, was traveling north on Route 225. He began to make a left turn onto Hatchery Road, but decided the road was too icy. When he attempted to continue north on Route 225, he lost control of the vehicle and struck a TDS utility pole.

Masser and his passengers, Heather Masser, 33, of Williamstown, and a four-month-old juvenile, were not hurt in the crash. Assisting police at the scene were members of the Hickory Corners Fire Company.

Two-vehicle crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured following a two-vehicle crash at the entrance to Walmart along Route 61 at 10:18 a.m. Monday.

Coal Township Police said a Ford Taurus, driven by Joanne Hayes, of Coal Township, failed to stop for a red light and struck a Chrysler minivan, driven by Deborah Quackenbush, of Coal Township, who was pulling from Walmart onto Route 61.

Police said no one was injured and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

No injuries

UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 209 and Landfill Road in Upper Paxton Township at 2:16 p.m. Monday.

State police at Lykens reported a 1991 Ford F250, driven by Brandon Boyer, 20, of Herndon, was traveling west on Route 209 while a 2005 Toyota Highlander, driven by Cathy E. Ochenrider, 59, of Millersburg, was stopped in the eastbound lane of Route 209, behind a vehicle making a left turn onto Landfill Road.

According to state police, Boyer failed to observe the vehicle which had turned onto Landfill Road and he swerved to avoid a collision and began to fishtail, striking Ochenrider's vehicle on an angle.

Neither driver was injured in the crash. Police were assisted by Millersburg Fire Department.
