Debit cards stolen

PAXINOS - State police at Stonington continue to investigate thefts from two parked vehicles along Brush Valley Road Friday.

Police say an unknown person accessed two vehicles - one owned by Danielle M. Bronowicz, of Sunbury, and one was owned by Tara Lynn Bussey, of Paxinos - parked at 2065 Brush Valley Road and removed two debit cards, driver's licenses and a checkbook, then left the area.

Items stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - James Kerstetter, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that someone, over the course of this year, removed a 18-inch Craftsman gas chain saw, a wooden porch swing and a metal utility yard cart from his property on Edison Heights Road. Total value of the items stolen is $300.

Yard ornaments stolen

SNYDERTOWN - Jim Gautsch, of 115 Main St., Snydertown, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between Wednesday and Thursday, someone removed two concrete pineapple yard ornaments from his front yard. The ornaments weigh approximately 60 pounds each and are valued at $240.

One injured in crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A Sunbury woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Routes 61 and 890.

State police at Stonington said a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Ruth Garrett, 90, of Sunbury, was traveling north on Route 890 and pulled out into the path of a 2009 Ford Focus, driven by Maryellen Rogers, 68, of Sunbury, which was traveling south on Route 61. The left front corner of the Crown Victoria struck the right front corner of the Focus.

Rogers was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while Garrett and Rogers' passenger, John Dormer, 74, of Shamokin, were uninjured. Police say Garrett will be cited for a stop sign violation.

State police statistics

STONINGTON - State police at Stonington have released their statistics for the month of November.

Officers responded to 235 incidents during the month, broken down as follows: criminal offenses reported, 37; criminal total founded offenses, 33; criminal offenses cleared, 20; criminal arrests, 18; number of crashes, 25; number crashes during which people were injured, 10; DUI arrests, 4; DUI-related crashes, 2; traffic citations, 289; warnings, 57.
