Pistol stolen

NEW RINGGOLD - State police at Frackville reported someone stole a Sterling semi-automatic pistol from the residence of Ernest Allen Boerner, 46, of 626 Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, between Sept. 8 and Sunday.

Retail theft

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Jabira Khan, 26, of Danville, was cited by state police at Selinsgrove for retail theft for stealing merchandise from Kohl's Department Store at the Monroe Marketplace at 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

Driver cited

TURBOT TOWNSHIP - Jasmine J. Bearden, 19, of Lewisburg, was cited for failing to drive in a single lane in connection with a one-vehicle accident late Wednesday night at the intersection of Route 405 and Golf Course Road.

State police at Milton said Bearden was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Colbalt north when she failed to negotiate a left curve, causing her car to exit the right side of the road. The front passenger side of the vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled onto its passenger side before traveling 50 more feet and stopping.

Scam victim

WATSONTOWN - State police at Milton reported Virginia Bieber, 57, of Watsontown, was scammed out of $3,500 after sending the money to an unknown person who advised her that she won $2.5 million.

Police said the scam occurred between July 16 and July 26.

Dog at large

SHAMOKIN - Kathy Giedosh, 44, of 702 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for allowing her dog to run at large shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the dog ran through the neighborhood and appeared on the front porch of 748 Bear Valley Ave.

Domestic violence

COAL TOWNSHIP - Charges of simple assault and harassment have been filed by Patrolman David Sage against Christopher Powell, 23, of 1125 W. Gowen St., Coal Township, in connection with a disturbance at his residence at 4:51 p.m. Sunday.

Police said Powell is accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend, Jessica Long, 22, causing injuries to her face that required medical attention.

Powell was arraigned by video by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
