MOUNT CARMEL - Six defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday to multiple charges and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay fines and costs.
- Neil E. Swatsky, 32, of 211 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 6 months.
An additional charge of possession of suboxone was withdrawn.
Swatsky was charged by Mount Carmel Cpl. David Donkochik in connection with a July 16 incident in the 200 block of South Poplar Street.
- Matthew S. Moyer, 20, of Boyertown, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 12 months.
Charges of criminal trespass and possession of a small amount of marijuana were withdrawn.
Moyer was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell in connection with an Aug. 23 incident in an area known as "The Slopes" off Route 901 between Locust Gap and Locust Summit.
- Tyler W. Davis, 25, of Danville, pleaded guilty to theft and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 12 months.
Additional charges of possessing credit cards belonging to Sharon and Gerald Boyer and receiving stolen property were withdrawn.
The charges filed by Riverside police officer Jennifer Goss relate to incidents between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7 at 7 Boyce Road, Riverside.
- Joseph R. McClain-Broden, 26, of 215 E. Saylor St., Atlas, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 12 months.
McClain-Broden was charged by Mount Carmel police relating to an Aug. 29 incident at 36 N. Vine St.
- Kasey Lee Starr, 24, of 501 E. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 12 months.
Charges of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of driving under suspension, driving without a license, driving without insurance, failure to carry and exhibit a registration card, a lighting violation and failure to wear a seat belt were withdrawn.
- Zachary Allen Starr, 30, of 14 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and placed on probation for 12 months. Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana were withdrawn.
The Starrs were charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman David Tomtishen relating to a July 22 incident at the Viaduct on Route 61.
