Money stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Rosemarie Dunick, of Coal Run Road, reported to township police someone broke into her home and stole $270 in cash between 1 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-644-0333.

Jewels stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Taylor Marie Dettrey, 28, of 2012 N. Fourth St., Harrisburg, is charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property for separate incidents.

Dettrey is accused of stealing $927 in jewelry from the home of Janet Eveland, 48, of 832 W. Pine St., between Dec. 6, 2013, and Jan. 6, 2014. Dettrey also is accused of stealing jewelry from the home of Kenneth Kline, 46, of 1750 W. Gowen St., and pawning it in Shamokin for $235.15 Feb. 4, 2013.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Kenneth R. Sampsell Jr., 20, of 135 Birch St., Shamokin, with felonies of delivery of spice, possession with intent to deliver spice, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility and a misdemeanor of possession of spice.

The charges relate to a June 16 incident in the city in which Sampsell allegedly sold spice to an informant for $30.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jose A. Caban, 32, of 17 S. Rock St., Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Terry Ketchem with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and driving without a license relating to an Aug. 1 accident on Route 61 near Palmer's Diner.

Police reported Caban, who had a blood-alcohol content of .127 percent, was operating a vehicle that struck a road sign and several reflectors, causing a flat tire and damage to the front headlight assembly and oil pan.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman William Miner has charged Jarid M. Spears, 24, of 923 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, with two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under suspension and careless driving involving a July 17 accident at 2 N. Eighth St.

Police said Spears, whose vehicle struck a parked vehicle, was driving under the influence of lorazepam and morphine.
