Hit and run
COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in two hit-and-run accidents within moments of each other at about midnight Thursday on Race and Chestnut streets.
Police said the hit-and-run vehicle, which may be a Jeep Grand Cherokee, struck a parked 2000 Ford truck in the driver's side rear quarter panel, causing minor damage. The truck is owned by Gerald Clements, of 1101 E. Race St., Coal Township.
Police said the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle then fled from the area on Hunter Street before turning onto Chestnut Street, where it struck a parked 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee owned by Dina Ducharme, of 1027 E. Chestnut St., Coal Township. Ducharme's vehicle sustained minor damage to its driver's side rear quarter panel and door.
The hit-and-run vehicle, which continued east on Chestnut Street, should have damage to its passenger side front head light and quarter panel.

Public drunkenness
COAL TOWNSHIP - Danielle Aikey, 26, of Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Matthew Hashuga for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct involving a disturbance at 4:39 a.m. Thursday inside and outside Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, while seeking treatment at the emergency room.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Carole Whiting, 49, of 1211 N. Pearl St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman William Zalinski for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a disturbance at 9:23 a.m. Tuesday in her block.
