MOUNT CARMEL - Siobhan N. Heiser, 36, of 342 W. Mahanoy Ave., Girardville, is charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with nine criminal counts for allegedly stealing prescription medication from a Mount Carmel couple.
Heiser was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possession with intent to deliver, theft, receiving stolen property, tampering or fabricating evidence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and misbranding a controlled substance. She was jailed at York County Prison on $50,000 bail.
Heiser is suspected of entering an unlocked door at 214 S. Poplar St. about 1 p.m. Monday and stealing several pill containers from Vera and Dennis Bucher. A witness confronted Heiser outside the home. About 8:45 p.m. police learned pill containers belonging to Vera Bucher were discovered in the first block of North Pear Street. At 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the rear of the 100 block of North Peach Street where Heiser allegedly repeatedly kicked the door of a residence.
She was taken into custody on a warrant from Lehigh County and was identified as a suspect in the reported burglary at the Buchers. Police say Heiser was found in possession of dozens of prescription pills and tablets, including some narcotics like oxycodone and other general medications for heart burn. Prescriptions belonging to Dennis Bucher were found in her purse, police say. She also allegedly possessed a straw and mirror, both with residue from a white powder.
