Two escape injury
CASS TOWNSHIP - Brian M. Drust, 35, of Coal Township, and Patricia M. Tokarchek, 61, of Pottsville, escaped injury in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on Valley Road in this Schuylkill County township.
State police at Frackville reported Tokarchek was pulling her 2013 Dodge Dart out of a private driveway onto Valley Road (Route 4002) at 2:45 p.m. when she failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled into the eastbound lane of Valley Road in front of a 2000 Subaru Outback operated by Drust. Police said Drust was unable stop in time to avoid a collision.
After impact, Tokarchek's vehicle spun clockwise approximately 40 degrees before coming to rest partially on the south shoulder and in the eastbound lane. The Dart was towed. Drust was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Tokarchek was cited for a traffic violation.
