Home break-in
ATLAS - Brian Beaver, 19, of 22 W. Eighth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police following a break-in at an Atlas home on May 25.
According to officer Brian Carnuccio, Beaver allegedly broke into the home of Charles Gasperetti, on West Girard Street, Atlas, to confront a 17-year-old female. At one point, Beaver took the female's phone and threw it off the roof of the house. He also spat in her face several times, police said.
He was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, and charged with a felony count of criminal trespass and misdemeanor counts of stalking, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, and was cited for trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct.
He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 24.
Domestic assault
COAL TOWNSHIP - Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed against Michael Gallie, 43, of 2139 Pulaski Ave., after an incident at his home at 3:22 p.m. Friday.
Coal Township Police say Gallie allegedly assaulted his wife, Stefani Gallie, 42, producing injuries that required treatment at a local emergency room.
Michael Gallie was arraigned before on-call magistrate John Gembic and released after posting $5,000 percentage bail.
Domestic assault
COAL TOWNSHIP - Pedro Carrasquillo, 51, of 1649 Tioga St., was charged with simple assault and harassment after an incident at his home at 6:18 a.m. Saturday.
Coal Township Police say Carrasquillo allegedly assaulted his wife, Sheyla Roque, 42, producing injuries that required treatment at a local emergency room.
Gallie was arraigned before on-call magistrate John Gembic III and released him on his own recognizance.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Darrell Jackson, 43, of 669 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Nathan Rhodes after allegedly causing a disturbance and yelling at police at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of Lincoln and Liberty streets. The citations were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.
Incident at bar
MOUNT CARMEL - Derek C. Kranzel, 25, of 414 Main St., Aristes, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and harassment after an incident at Dorko's Bar, West Fourth Street, at 1 a.m. May 24.
Mount Carmel Borough Police patrolman Matthew Dillman alleges Kranzel confronted Kelsey Resendes at the bar, then dumped an open bottle of beer on her head before stealing her wallet and leaving.
Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled July 1.
DUI charges
RIVERSIDE - Michael A. Perry, 26, of 227 Magnolia Lane, Sunbury, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to give notice of an accident to police, reckless driving and careless driving in relation to a crash at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, near the borough.
Riverside police officer Jennifer Goss said police were called for a car into a tree, with the driver's side air bag deployed, but they found no one around the vehicle.
At 1 a.m., a truck pulled up to the scene with Perry, his wife and daughter inside. His wife told police she was driving, and that Perry was injured. When asked why he was injured and she was not, Perry told police he was driving.
Chemical testing showed Perry's blood-alcohol level was .227 percent.
Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 1.
Underage drinking
SHAMOKIN - Darcay Swift, 18, of 109 W. Commerce St., was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness by Shamokin police patrolman Mark Costa after being found under the influence of alcohol at 1:51 a.m. Sunday in the area of Pine and Shamokin streets.
