Bird bath stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating the theft of a bird bath decoration from a home in the 1000 block of West Willow Street.

The decoration, described as having a bowl on top in the shape of a pedestal and a concrete base in the shape of a classical column or pillar, is believed to have been stolen between 8 p.m. Sunday and 2:20 p.m. Monday.

Anyone with information in regard to the theft is requested to contact the department.

Crash

STONINGTON - Brittany A. Sodrick, 22, of Dalmatia, suffered moderate injuries when the 1998 Ford Escort she was driving veered from Route 3004 near the Line Mountain Race Track, Little Mahanoy Township.

Sodrick's vehicle rolled over and struck a tree. She was taken by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital where she was treated and released.

State police said Sodrick will be cited with a summary traffic violation.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Mark E. Barvitskie, 55, of 314 S. Coal St. was cited for harassment by city police Chief Darwin Tobias III after he allegedly threatened to assault a female through a voicemail message and made threatening statements to others about her at 9:42 p.m. Thursday.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police said a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were charged with disorderly conduct after they engaged in a fight inside the Shamokin Area Middle/High School at around 11 a.m. April 30.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - City police cited Brett Wolfgang, 22, of 1016 W. Independence St., Coal Township, for retail theft after allegedly stealing $7.53 worth of candy from the Dollar General store on Independence Street on March 14. The citation was filed by Patrolman William Zalinski.
