Decorations stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating the theft of Christmas decorations from a Ranshaw home between Friday night and Saturday morning.

A large animated drummer boy and toy soldier were found near Race and Hunter streets at 1:32 a.m. Saturday. The decorations were part of a display at the home of James Madden, 132 Main St., Ranshaw. The decorations, valued at $800, sustained extensive damage, police said.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jennifer Conover, 34, of 331 S. Rock St., Shamokin, was cited for harassment by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky related to a confrontation inside Walmart at 2 p.m. Dec. 1.

Conover is accused of confronting Jasmine Deitz, 18, of Clair Street, Elysburg, inside the store and punching her in the face. Deitz was not injured.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Amir Roach, 28, and Ashley Groff, 24, both of Shamokin, were charged with misdemeanor retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft from Walmart Supercenter, Route 61.

Roach and Groff are accused of making fraudulent returns on three different occasions between Oct. 26 and Nov. 10. The merchandise is valued at $433.88.
