Drivers identified in crash
ELYSBURG - A three-car, chain-reaction crash at 8:30 p.m. Friday tied up traffic at East Valley Avenue and East Center Street in Elysburg.
Ralpho Township Police report a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, operated by Wendy Wright, of Watsontown, was coming to a stop on Route 487 because a vehicle in front of her was turning left onto East Center Street. At the same time, a 1996 Buick Century, driven by Christin Beachel, of Hughesville, was also stopping because of the turning vehicle.
As the two vehicles were attempting to stop, a 2006 Lexus, driven by Richard Knoebel, of Elysburg, struck Beachel's vehicle which then struck Wright's vehicle.
There were four passengers with Beachel and two with Wright. Minor injuries were suffered but all parties refused transport by ambulance for treatment. Assisting police at the scene were Elysburg Fire and Ambulance personnel, members of the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Elysburg Paramedics.
Back up crash
ANTHONY TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2 p.m. Friday in the area of Fox Hollow Road in Anthony Township.
State police at Milton report a 2013 Ford F350 truck, driven by Howard J. Fenstemaker, 54, of Danville, and a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Randy Michael, of Turbotville, were traveling south on Fox Hollow Road when Fenstemaker stopped briefly to examine a part of the roadway infrastructure. The Silverado stopped behind him, but then Fenstemaker backed up the F350 and struck the front end of the Silverado.
No one was injured in the crash and police cited Fenstemaker for careless driving.
