Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - A city man was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia after a visit from county adult probation officers July 29.

Cpl. Bryan Primerano, of City of Shamokin Police Department, reported Richard J. Giedosh, of 702 Bear Valley Ave., had a clear glass lightbulb adapted as a smoking device, which was turned over to police by Northumberland County Adult Probation officers Daniel Shoop and Matthew Narcavage. Giedosh told police he used the lightbulb to ingest methamphetamine, according to a court documents.

Crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Joseph Tumolo, 41, of 1519 W. Fern St., Coal Township, will be cited for failing to obey a stop sign after an accident at the intersection of Montgomery and Cedar Streets at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Township police said Tumolo's 1991 Ford F450 struck the side of a 2003 GMC SUV driven by Daniel Long, 55, of 1529 Nelson St. Long's vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Tumolo, Long and a passenger in Long's vehicle, Marilee Picarelli, 52, of 1529 Nelson St., were uninjured.

Assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two men from Maryland face charges for their part in a fight at the Northwestern Academy Secure Program boot camp around noon June 12.

Township police said Stephawn M. Watson, 18, of 5751 Falkland Pl., Capital Heights, Md., and Jalen Kirk, 18, pulled a minor boy into a back room and held him so he could not move or yell. Erick A. Flores, 19, of 124 Duvall Ln., Apt. 102, Gaithersburg, Md., joined the duo in holding the minor, and the men told the minor they were going to "make him tough." Kirk and Watson struck the minor in the arms until the minor broke free and ran away.

Watson also faced charges stemming from another fight on June 12 with a different minor boy. Watson, Kirk and a 17-year-old boy detained the minor and punched him, leaving bruises on his arms, shoulders and chest.

Watson was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on two charges each of simple assault, criminal conspiracy and harassment. He was committed to Northumberland County Prison under $5,000 straight bail.

Flores was also arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. He faces charges of simple assault, criminal conspiracy and harassment and was committed to Northumberland County Prison on $2,500 unsecured bail.

A hearing for both is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Randy J. Dock, 155 Redcourt Ln., Middleburg, was cited on Tuesday for high brush, grass and weeds at a property he owns at 912-914 Holly St., Coal Township.

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kevin Stouffer, of 104 Poplar St., was cited on Tuesday for high brush, grass and weeds at his home.
