SUNBURY - Three local defendants were recently sentenced in Northumberland County Court.
n Collin Scicchitano, 19, of Coal Township, was sentenced for criminal trespass by President Judge William H. Wiest to serve 3 to 12 months in the county jail and ordered to serve three consecutive years of supervised probation upon his release.
He also was ordered to pay a $250 fine plus costs, a $50 per month supervision fee and make $400 in restitution to his mother, Jill Scicchitano, for property taken or damaged. Scicchitano was made eligible for an early release program, given credit for prison time previously served and ordered to pay for a DNA sample.
In addition to criminal trespass, Scicchitano pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing a firearm without a license. He received separate concurrent sentences on those charges that include paying $350 in fines plus costs, making restitution totaling $502.38 to Edward Johns Jr., a 1- to 12-month prison sentence and probation.
He also must refrain from possessing, consuming or purchasing alcohol, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and avoid any contact with drug dealers or users.
All the charges against Scicchitano were filed by Coal Township police last year and this year.
n Joseph V. Payne, 29, of Shamokin, was sentenced for attempted burglary by Judge Charles Saylor to serve a two-year intermediate punishment, with the first 90 days in Northumberland County Prison followed by 120 days on house arrest.
He will remain under the supervision of the county adult probation and parole department.
Payne must pay a $50 fine, $50 per month supervision fee and for a DNA sample. He also was ordered to pay $507.52 to Kim Martin and Bob Blugis.
Payne was charged by Coal Township police with attempting to break into the Clubhouse Bar, 1027 E. Race St., in April.
n Jeffrey Michael Trice, 28, of Coal Township, was sentenced for endangering the welfare of children by Saylor to 11 1/2 to 23 months in county prison and two years consecutive probation. He was made eligible for work release and must pay $250 in fines plus costs, a $50 per month supervision fee and make restitution totaling $2,072.39 to Walmart.
He also received concurrent sentences of 3 to 11 1/2 months in county jail and four years probation on charges of conspiracy to commit forgery, retail theft and tampering with evidence.
The charges were filed by Coal Township, Mount Carmel and Mount Carmel Township police.
