Liquor law charges
MONTOURSVILLE - Liquor law violations were filed Thursday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement against the Home Association of Cpl. Anthony Chesney Post 231 American Legion 856 Ash St., Kulpmont.
The establishment was cited for paying for purchases of malt or brewed beverages with other than licensee's checks, cashier's checks or money orders; failing to operate small games of chance according to state code; failing to maintain complete and truthful records covering the licensed business for a period of two years before April 10, in accordance with the state's Small Games of Chance Act; failing to adhere to bylaws for not electing club officers and trustees in accordance with the liquor code, due to officers and trustees of the parent lodge automatically becoming officers or trustees in the licensed club; and failing to maintain records in conformity with the provisions of the liquor and state code
State police said the offenses occurred between Jan. 1, 2013, and April 18.
The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.
Rollover
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - State police issued a report Thursday on a May 7 crash on Route 890 near Fegley Road.
They said Colby S. Bucher, 24, of Sunbury, was driving a 2007 Jeep Commander when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and his vehicle drifted off the left side of the road and struck a concrete drainage culvert. The crash caused the vehicle to roll several times before coming to rest on its wheels against the guide rail.
Bucher was wearing his seat belt at the time and was not injured.
He was cited for careless driving.
