Endangering the welfare of children

DALMATIA - State police at Stonington report an investigation continues into an child endangerment case discovered at 6 p.m. Thursday on Water Street.

Police report the suspect, who was not identified by police, failed to provide supervised care of a young juvenile when she was found to be under the influence of a cocktail of prescription medications.

Auction theft

MIDDLECREEK TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove report that sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, someone stole a Pioneer subwoofer speaker, a Pioneer CD Player and a welder from the Auction Barn parking lot in Middlecreek Township. Anyone with information pertaining to the incident is asked to contact state police at 570-374-8145.

Assault

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Alan Arthur, 29, of Chathum Street, Williamsport, was taken into custody by state police at Selinsgrove after he allegedly punched three people in the head by at 4:50 p.m. Saturday inside the Boscov's Department Store at the Susquehanna Valley Mall

He was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault on Sunday when he was arraigned and placed in Snyder County Prison on $25,000 bail.

Harassment by communication

KULPMONT - Samantha Joseph, 21, of 713 Scott St., Kulpmont, reported to state police at Stonington that between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 12:40 a.m. Friday, she received several anonymous, threatening phone calls. The investigation into the incident continues.

Driver arrested

HERNDON - A 28-year-old male from Sunbury was arrested by state police at Stonington on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found sleeping in his running vehicle at the gas island of the Herndon Sunoco convenience store at 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Charges are pending further investigation.

One vehicle crash

SNYDERTOWN - No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:18 p.m. Saturday in the area of Snydertown Road.

State police at Stonington report a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Seth Cotner, 46, of Northumberland, was traveling west on Snydertown Road when a deer entered the roadway from the eastbound shoulder of the road, attempting to cross both lanes.

Cotner struck the deer with his vehicle then exited the roadway off the eastbound lane of Snydertown Road.

Cotner was not injured in the crash, but the Silverado was towed from the scene.
