Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - A roadside mailbox and newspaper box owned by Darlene Wisgo, of 345 Route 901, was hit by a vehicle and left on the highway near the entrance to Coal Township-SEEDCO Industrial Park, where it was found about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-644-0333.

2 crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - A township man was cited for a stop sign violation stemming from a two-vehicle accident at Route 125 and Bear Valley Road about 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, James Boris, 55, of 1024 W. Lynn St., failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled a vehicle onto Route 125 into the path of a vehicle driven by Michelle LaCrosse, 41, of 5529 Lower Road, Shamokin.

LaCrosse was treated for minor injuries at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, police said, while Boris was not injured. Both vehicles were towed.

Coal Township Fire Department and Shamokin police assisted.

Tires slashed

COAL TOWNSHIP - Richard Madden, 28, of 1223 Pulaski Ave., told police the driver-side tires on his 2008 Ford Mustang were slashed Friday night while the vehicle was parked in front of his residence, possibly about 11 p.m. Each tire is valued at $173. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-644-0333.

Trash violation

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jarred Thomas Dabulis, 25, of 110 Center St., Tharptown, was charged with scattering rubbish for allegedly dumping and burning houshold trash Thursday on coal lands southeast of Coal Run.

Street fight

SHAMOKIN - Three people were cited with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting at Water and Washington streets shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday: Michelle A. Divergigelis, 44, and Kevin Jeremiah, 45, both of 503 W. Boyd St., Shamokin, and John Valenskie, 36, of 325 E. Water St., Shamokin.
