MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court on Monday, May 19, in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Christa M. Anzalone, 35, of 131 W. Third St., Apartment 1, Mount Carmel, waived charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

She was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik following an incident at her residence March 17 when police said she failed to take care of her three-year-old child.

Anzalone also waived two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, those charges filed by Borough Police Chief Todd Owens following a March 15 incident at her residence.

n Charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and criminal trespass against Kevin D. Mashburn, 36, of 308 Lower Mulberry St., Danville, were ordered bound to court by Jones after Mashburn failed to appear in court.

Mashburn was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell following a trespassing incident near SOS Metals on Route 54 in Mount Camrel Township Feb. 23.

n Joseph V. Payne, 29, of 916 E. Chestnut St., Shamokin, waived charges of driving under the influence, careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Kulpmont Police Officer Patrick McAndrew filed the charges following his investigation into a March 7 accident involving Payne's vehicle and two parked cars in the 900 block of Chestnut Street.

n Charges of driving under the influence, driving on roadways laned for traffic, failure to use restraint systems on a child under four years old, driving while operating privilege is suspended and failure to give notice of a change of address were waived to court by Wade J. Smink, 39, with a last known address of 1564 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township.

The charges stem from a Nov. 19 accident on State Route 901 in Mount Carmel Township and were filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Department Patrolman David Stamets Jr.
