Public drunkenness
SHAMOKIN - Richard J. White, 28, of 405 W. Pine St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief relating to a disturbance shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday on East Independence Street.
Police said White is accused of pulling a metal rack owned by the Dollar General store onto the ground and pushing a display item owned by Bressi & Martin onto the sidewalk.
Anthony L. Munson, 23, of 561 N. Second St., Shamokin, also was cited by Siko for public drunkenness in connection with the same incident.
One-vehicle crash
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a crash at 6:50 p.m. Monday, in the area of Hickory Road, Lower Mahanoy Township.
State police at Stonington report a 1999 Subaru Forester, driven by Casey L. Forney, 18, of Gratz, was traveling west on Hickory Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole with its right front end.
After the crash, the Forester rolled over in the westbound lane and came to rest facing Northeast. Forney was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time, but was cited by police for failing to maintain his vehicle on the roadway.
Disorderly conduct
SHAMOKIN - Levi Reigle, 22, of 1244 Chemung St., Coal Township, was cited by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle for disorderly conduct in connection with an altercation at 10:53 p.m. March 28 at Independence and Ninth streets.
Criminal mischief
COAL TOWNSHIP - Shane Clements, 22, of 1101 E. Race St., reported to township police that sometime between Friday and Sunday, someone scratched the passenger side door of his 1996 Mercury while it was parked on Race Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 570-644-0333.
Urinates in public
SHAMOKIN - Kenneth K. Lamar, 57, of 315 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for disorderly conduct for urinating at Independence and Washington streets near the Shamokin Post Office at 1:46 a.m. March 29.
Underage drinking
SHAMOKIN - Ashley Lynn Talmadge, 19, of 1332 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for underage drinking and disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling and cursing at 1:27 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of North Vine Street.
Police said the disturbance annoyed neighbors.
Cited again
COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas E. Broscius, of 1516 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was cited again Monday and Tuesday by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for having faulty weather protection at his home, which has several holes in its roof and rotted roof covering, which allows water to enter the building.
Broscius has been cited numerous times for the same ordinance violation.
Multiple offenses
SHAMOKIN - Jeffrey S. Luta, 41, of 3413 State Route 61, Sunbury, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with two counts each of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, and one count of public drunkenness involving a disturbance at 3:35 a.m. Sunday at Rock and Spurzheim streets.
Luta is accused of striking Michael Giliegbaurer in the back of the head and breaking his $500 headphones. He also allegedly resisted arrest during which time a wooden roof support at 409 E. Spruzheim St. was knocked over onto a police car, causing approximately $1,000 damage.
Prior to being taken into custody, police said Luta yelled at officers and challenged them to shoot him while he was standing on a porch at 409 E. Spurzheim St.
Teen threatens suicide
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Jarrod Scandle has cited a 17-year-old Shamokin male twice for disorderly conduct for threatening to jump off a third-story roof at his East Sunbury Street residence at 9:47 a.m. March 29 and 12:48 a.m. March 30.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - Joseph M. Kristoff, 48, of 250 S. Pearl St., Shamokin, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with driving under the influence of alcohol, a red light violation and careless driving relating to a vehicle stop at 10:26 p.m. Saturday at Market and Lincoln streets.
Police said Kristoff refused to submit to a blood test.
Criminal mischief
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Joseph D. Barnes, 28, of 120 W. Willow St., Shamokin, with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Barnes used a pipe bender to smash a $1,200 motor scooter owned by Angelina Raygoza, causing damage to the windshield, gas tank and handle bar area.
Police said Barnes, who was screaming and cursing, had to be told by police several times to stop her behavior while being taken into custody.
Harassment
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Lindsay Hager, of Sunbury, was cited by state police at Stonington with harassment after allegedly shoving the victim, Brittany Farnsworth, of Sunbury, at their residence at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.
PFA violation
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Mark Costa has charged Carl Marchetti, 54, of 620 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, for violating a protection from abuse order involving an incident at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at 453 S. Shamokin St.
Police said Marchetti, who was prohibited by court order from contacting his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Miller, left several threatening and vulgar messages on her cell and land line phones.
DUI offenses
SHAMOKIN - Laura Lee Wheary, 36, of 1224 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, was charged by Cpl. Jarrod Scandle with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and impeding traffic by driving at a very slow speed.
The charges relate to a March 29 incident at Market and Independence streets.
Police said Wheary had a blood alcohol content of .226 percent.
