Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 2008 Volkswagen sedan, owned by Donna Wisloski, of 1631 W. Willow St., Coal Township suffered minor damage Monday in a hit-and-run accident in the 1600 block of West Willow Street.

Items stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Andrea and Ilene Bausch, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 12:01 and 9 a.m. Monday, someone forcibly entered their locked vehicles and stole multiple items, including tools and a purse with credit cards, before fleeing the scene.

Minor injuries

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - A West Milton man suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Route 147 north of Raker Road in Upper Augusta Township at 5:25 a.m. March 26.

State police at Stonington report a 1995 Geo Tracker, driven by Billyjoel Trumper, 33, was traveling south on Route 147 when he slid on the ice-covered roadway, lost control and traveled across the northbound lane and struck an embankment on the roadway's east side.

The Tracker then rolled over onto its driver side, spinning to face north and coming to rest in the eastbound lane. Trumper was transported to Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg, for treatment.

Two-vehicle crash

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:45 a.m. March 26, on State Route 2044 near Academy Street.

State police at Stonington report a 2007 Jeep Commander, driven by Haley E. Hogarty, 22, of Shamokin, was traveling north on State Route 2044 on a downhill slight left curve while a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Anna M. Shingara, 37, of Shamokin, was traveling south and going on an uphill slight right curve. Police say Hogarty lost traction and began to slide off the shoulder of the northbound lane.

Hogarty began to countersteer and then exited her lane and entered Shingara's. The Commander's left rear end struck the Tahoe's front end, sending Hogarty's vehicle spinning in a counterclockwise manner.

Both drivers and a two-year-old male passenger in Hogarty's vehicle were injured. Police cited Hogarty for failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed.
