Money stolen from machines

BLOOMSBURG - State police continue to investigate the theft of money from vending machine that help raise money for a charitable organization.

State police report a number of vending machines used by North Central Sight Services Inc., Williamsport, at the Columbia County rest areas along Interstate 80 were broken into March 24. The suspects allegedly gained entry into the machines and pulled out cash and coins totalling $370, and caused $1,200 in damage.

Police say the suspects are three white males and a video of the theft is available at North Central Sight Services Inc. Facebook page.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact state police at 570-387-4261.

Mailbox damaged

MAYBERRY TOWNSHIP - Jess Oren, of Catawissa, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, someone smashed Oren's mailbox at a property on Wonderview Road, Mayberry Township. Damage is estimated at $40.
