GIRARDVILLE - State police at Frackville are labeling their investigation into a pickup truck crash from 8:15 p.m. Thursday near here as a hit-and-run.
Police said a 2000 Mazda was traveling west when the driver, Joseph Polaconis, 26, of Shenandoah, lost control of the vehicle and it went off the west side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Despite the truck having right side body, wheel and suspension damage, police said Polaconis drove the vehicle to Girardville, where it was discovered during a Girardville police patrol.
Polaconis suffered a bloody nose. A passenger, a 3-year-old boy, was in a car seat and uninjured.
The vehicle's airbag deployed, police said.
