Flashing light
SHAMOKIN - Chief Edward Griffiths warned motorists to use caution when approaching the intersection of Second and Walnut streets where a malfunctioning traffic light is flashing red near a water line project.
He said the traffic signal will remain flashing until it can be repaired.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - David C. Weaver, 37, of 1798 Clinton Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension, driving on the wrong side of the road, restriction on alcoholic beverages and failure to yield in connection with a Feb. 20 incident at Independence and Cleaver streets.
Police said Weaver refused to submit to chemical testing.
Code violations
COAL TOWNSHIP - Donald C. Kuntz, of 45 W. Fifth St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Coal Township code enforcement officer Chris Petrovich Feb. 28 for violating the township's occupancy permit ordinance and for failing to report the status of occupancy of a property at 1727 Park Ave.
